Disgraced DCI (Detective Chief Inspector) Jude Pendragon faces a year's dismissal from London's Scotland Yard.During this hiatus he covertly goes through cold case files and finds one that takes him into another realm of reality, one from which he may, or may not, escape as he entered.

Professor Campbell's expedition into the hills of Libya obtains a papyrus which might reveal the hiding place of the Golden Tablets of Hippocrates, containing lost medical secrets. Also in the region is intrepid Nyoka Gordon, still seeking her father, lost on a previous expedition. She alone can translate the papyrus, which directs our heroes through deadly perils (including the Tunnel of Bubbling Death) into the land of the Tuaregs. Opposing them are Vultura, Queen of the Desert, and her Arab ally Cassib, both greedy for the treasure...

Mr. Ferber is an old man living in Pendragon Castle along with his two grandchildren Bobby and Paddy who find a small dragon to heat their castle. The dragon helps them to find hidden treasure in the castle.

Professor Hargrave (James Durkin), a noted scientist, is in Indo-China seeking an ivory-disc that is engraved with the formula for a deadly gas. Dr. Barshan ('John Davidson' (qb)), his assistant Wang (Frank Lackteen) and his henchmen are also after the sacred formula and will stop at nothing to obtain it. Professor Hargrave's daughter, Pauline (Evalyn Knapp), and flight-engineer Robert Ward (Craig Reynolds (I)') do their best to protect Hargraves from the band of villains.
